Creative Communities Open Studio

A group of artists have been working with Swap Market to explore the wealth of creativity in Govanhill, Gorbals, Laurieston and Oatlands. At this open studio the group will share what they have found, through drawing, photography, conversation and mapping. The group will also be sharing ideas for how the wealth of creativity in this area can be connected and supported.

Come and join in the conversation. What creative activities do you know of? What do you think would connect and support creative projects?

Drop in Tuesday to Saturday 11am–5pm to play community snakes and ladders, add to the manifesto for creativity or play the skill swap tombola.

Join us for events on these dates:

Tues 18th
Chai and Chat will host an afternoon of tea and craft 1-3pm (women only).

Tues 25th
Drawing Club with Rae-Yen and Snakes and Ladders with Alaya.

Fri 28th
Romano Lav will host an afternoon of Romanian food and music.

This research phase has been funded by Glasgow Life and is part of a city-wide programme of artists in residence in every ward in Glasgow. It is intended to fund further activities based on the outcomes of the research. Visitors to the studio can add to and suggest amendments to the proposal.
