Govanhill and Crosshill Community Council Meeting

October 14 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 7:00pm on day Second of the month, repeating until 10th August 2020

All meetings are open to public – you are welcome to come along to observe the council at work. Whilst only elected members take part in the debate and voting, we may ask for your opinion on matters that you feel strongly about.

We meet on the second Monday of each month at Samaritan House, 79 Coplaw Street, Govanhill. But please always check before coming, as times and venues can change. (map)

Meetings start at 7pm and are finished by 9pm.

Community Councils are elected from among local residents and exist to promote their area and help to make it a better place to live. Community Councils are not political, or racist or sectarian. (What is a community council?)

To do this we aim to co-ordinate local opinion and represent these views to the City Council and other public bodies and agencies which have an influence on your quality of life. Whilst we do not have any budget or legislative authority to solve large problems of Housing or Cleansing, we are in a position to influence those who do make those decisions and also draw attention to failures.

We also aim to take action in the interest of the community – as it appears to be desirable and practicable – to encourage the preservation, development and or improvement of features of general interest.
