Govanhill Community Development Trust’s volunteering programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.  This work aims to develop the employability and skills of local people, support participation in the local community and support the wonderful array of local voluntary activity.  In turn we hope this will improve the image and external perception of Govanhill, enhance community communications and foster community pride.

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities for local people, which change frequently.  To date we have helped over 150 local people to develop their skills through volunteering in a hugely diverse array of roles.  The project supports and advises both local residents interested in volunteering and local organisations looking for volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Volunteer Coordinator Ruth Plummer on 0141 636 3697 or at  Ruth is mainly based at the community shop at 192 Allison St, where you will be very warmly welcomed.  You can contact here there on 0141 423 8883.
