SECTION 2 – Home Energy Advice & Funding

SOUTH SEEDS – ENERGY SAVING TIPS

0141 636 3959 /Office 514 Victoria Road

Tips to save gas

Draft proof your home – use heavy curtains and draft excluders to fill and gaps round doors, windows and skirting. Household items such as old clothes and newspapers can also be used.

Use temporary glazing film – add temporary glazing film on single glazed windows.

Adjust your thermostat and boiler time – turning down your thermostat by 1 degree can reduce your bill by around £90 per year

Tips to save electricity

Switch to LED light bulbs – LED light bulbs are the most efficient ones.
Take shorter showers – Electric showers cost more than many other appliances in your home. Taking shorted showers can reduce your electricity costs.
Turn off appliances when not in use – it is a good idea to switch off appliances at the plug. When in standby mode they still use electricity
