Tiny Lives First Aid – training for parents

COMMUNITY CONSULTATIONS

Changes to nurseries in Govanhill

Glasgow City Council is holding a consultation about planned changes to nurseries in Govanhill. It is proposed that Govanhill Nursery and Cuthbertson Nursery will use the new purpose-built nursery building in the grounds of Cuthbertson Primary School. 

The consultation process starts from August 30. A public meeting will be held at Cuthbertson Primary School at 7pm on Wednesday, September 8.

Our local magazine is looking for an Income Generation Assistant

This is through the UK Government Kickstart Scheme, which means applicants must be on Universal Credit, aged 16-24, currently unemployed and based in the UK. The position is for 25 hours per week, for six months. Paid at the Living Wage. Applications must be made via a referral from your work coach. Closing date: 5pm, 13 September. Rumpus Room

Call out for studio members to take part in ‘Our Restaurant at the end of the world’. Deadline for note of interest is August 31st – beginning as part of Rumpus Room’s Autumn/Winter programme (Sep-Dec 2021). We are looking to work with two artists/creative people from the studio (16-25yrs) to shape and produce Rumpus Room’s new food and art project ‘Our Restaurant at the End of the World’. One young person to programme and facilitate the workshops as part of the project and another young person to produce the final video work as part of the project. The Climate in Your Hands

Glasgow Zine Library and The University of Glasgow are launching a series of workshops and video masterclasses around the climate crisis. They’re inviting young people to take part who are aged 14-18, based in Glasgow/surrounding areas, from socially marginalised groups who are interested in the climate action movement.️ The digital workshops begin on 11th September 2021 and will run on Saturdays in September (11th & 18th) and October (16th & 23rd). Toolkit Launch with Greenspace Scotland ‘This Must Be Our Place’

Over the last year we’ve been working with Greenspace Scotland and Lucy Grainge on This Must Be Our Place for young people to connect and take ownership of the places they live, work and play in. Launched in June as part of Greenspace Scotland’s Young People & Place Online Festival. The resource includes four sections to explore ideas, activities and actions that can be used to get us thinking differently about place.

FUNDING

The Community Capacity and Resilience Fund (CCRF)

This fund from Scottish Government aims to support local, community-based organisations with small grants of up to £8,000 to deliver activities that help people mitigate the impact of welfare reform. Deadline Sunday 10th September, 12pm.

Funding for the first years of a child’s life

Grants from £5,000 to £7,500 are available for community-based projects working to support infants/babies aged 0-2 and their carers in Scotland.
