LOCAL PLANNING & DEVELOPMENTS

Community Engagement and Information Strategy working group

The working group brings together Govanhill residents and representatives of organisations working locally. They analyse the results of the community survey conducted earlier in the year and make recommendations for the strategy document on Community Engagement and Information in Govanhill. The document will form part of the Locality Plan for Govanill and can then be used to influence approaches to community engagement and making information accessible across services. If you’d like to get involved, please contact Marzanna Antoniak, community connector for Govanhill at mantoniak@govanhillha.org. For more information about the group and locality planning in Govanhill go to the Locality Plan tab on www.govanhill.info

OTHER

Are you Irish?

Take part in Moira McIver’s ‘Migration Memories’ project!

“I am an artist from Ireland working with Street Level Photo Gallery during this month and hoping to get in touch with families who migrated from Donegal to Glasgow from the 1930s to 1960s who may have stories, family photographs or documentation of parents, grandparents they would be willing to share. I am particularly interested in women’s experiences of leaving home, finding work, raising families and settling into life in Glasgow. Irish families would often have collections of images which hold memories which are gradually becoming more distant and it would be fascinating to record the stories behind these images before they disappear. If you would like to get in touch, my email address m.mciverm@gmail.com.”
