Govanhill Baths are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the occupation of the Baths. On Thurs 2nd & Fri 3rd December 2021 they are holding the ‘Occupy! Occupy! Fill the Boots for Saint Nicholas
Saint Nicholas is on 6 December when traditionally in Eastern Europe children would leave their shoes at the door and Saint Nicholas, the original Santa Claus, would visit and fill the shoes/ boots with sweets. In Govanhill we uphold the transition of giving children sweets at Saint Nicholas. Please help us to raise enough money to ‘fill the boots’ for the children of Govanhill on Saint Nicholas day. Make Your Own Holiday Decorations
Remade Network are hosting some festive workshops at their shop at 421, Victoria Road. If you’ve ever wanted to make your own holiday decorations then the one on December the 12th is the perfect workshop for you! It is also a great way to pick up some hand sewing and embroidery skills. Lifelink are offering online wellbeing sessions to anyone with a Glasgow postcode. The 2-hour classes are delivered via video to the group by experienced Lifelink facilitators. Free mental health support in Glasgow Southside
Wellbeing Services South Glasgow offer mental health support to residents of Glasgow’s Southside. They share self-help resources and online courses on their website. Anyone with a G.P. in the Southside of Glasgow can be referred for treatment. This can be done online or by phoning 0141 232 2555. Written referrals from G.P.’s, CMHT’s and external/internal agencies are also accepted.

Southside Community Recovery Network is hosting a number of addiction recovery activities and initiatives across the city, including a Southside-based programme. The Labyrinth Project: mapping services for BAME women who have experienced gender based violence
The Labyrinth Project is conducting a mapping exercise of services available in Glasgow that support Black Asian Minority Ethnic women who have experienced Gender Based Violence. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and aims at identifying good practices, strengths, gaps and capacity building requirements for local organisations, community groups and organisations. It will be open until Friday 3rd December 2021.

Women’s Fund for Scotland – Foundation Scotland
Applications for The Women’s Fund are now open. Grants up to £5,000 are available for projects that support women’s development, self-sufficiency and social and economic equality. The deadline for the fund is 10th January and you can find out more here
Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
A new Glasgow-wide fund is providing small grants of up to £10,000 for projects that improve mental wellbeing in the city. Grass roots community groups and third sector organisations can apply for funds to deliver activities and programmes to people to reconnect and revitalise communities building on examples of good practice which have emerged throughout the pandemic. The Well Multi-Cultural Resource Centre is moving!
The Well Multi-Cultural Resource Centre is moving to a new-build on Allison Street, in the heart of Govanhill. This new building will have more space, increasing their capacity for private meetings and group activities, such as digital workshops and craft activities. They are currently raising money for fitting out the new space – donate here.

Remade Network Saving Unwanted Electrical Items
Having saved a whopping 1,600kg of discarded tech during COP26 to be refurbished, reused or recycled, Remade Network are continuing to collect unwanted tech for recycling at their sites in Govanhill, Parkhead and Cranhill. Discarded electricals are one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world and if we recycled them instead it would cut as much CO2 as taking 1.3million cars off the road.
