Big Noise: Free Music Classes for 0-3 year-olds
Little Noise Classes are back! Classes for 0-3 year olds and their parents/carers living in Govanhill. No need to book in advance but classes will be limited to 10 adults per class. Mondays – 10.15-10.45am & Tuesdays – 1.15 – 1.45pm

Cycle Rides for New Scots (Bike for Good)

Cycle Rides for New Scots are still happening and we are planning to keep it going throughout the winter (if the weather permits). For anybody who would like to explore Glasgow, learn about cycle routes or simply to meet other like minded people. Still trying to get your way with cycling? Adapt & Act: Climate Action
A magazine exploring youth activism. This issue explores the climate crisis and creative protest. View the magazine for free here, alongside a series of worksheets exploring climate action that can be used at home or in your community setting.
YCSA Activities for Young People
48 Darnley Street, G41 2SE, Pollokshields
Cooking Classes – Thursdays 5-7pm, for ages 12-18 years. Co-run with Propagate will be starting mid November in the Pollokshields area. Young people will learn how to prepare healthy meals. All meals are vegetarian and halal.
Sewing Classes – Wednesdays 5-7pm, for ages 12-18 years old. Co-run with Rags to Riches will be starting mid November in the Pollokshields area. Young people will learn how to use a sewing machine and repair clothing.
Young Leaders Forum – A forum for young people aged 12-25 years to learn climate literacy and leadership skills. This program runs throughout the year. This activity is funded by the Climate Change Fund. See more information here or contact chinyantakabaso@ycsa.org.uk or call 07394 451 718.

Cancer screening awareness videos
Glasgow City HSCP Health Improvement Team has developed animated videos on cancer screening for Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. These animated videos raise awareness of bowel, breast, and cervical cancer, and awareness of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus).

These animated videos are available in 5 languages (Arabic, Mandarin, Punjabi, Romanes, and Urdu) and will help address cancer screening health inequalities experienced by BAME communities.

We are recruiting an Art Therapist for YCSA’s Addressing Mental Health project, to provide support for refugees and asylum seekers aged 10 – 25. The successful applicant will be a qualified Art Therapist, with experience of working with children and young people, an understanding of issues impacting asylum seekers and refugees, and an interest in exploring the effectiveness of a youth work context to therapeutic support.
Contract until 25 November 2022, Salary: £30000 pro rata 21h/week (£18000)
